Pinehurst Golf Trip Cost: Package Prices and What a Group Trip Actually Runs

golfgolf tripgolf packagesPinehurstgolf trip costgreens feescaddiesSandhills golf

Short answer: It depends a lot on where you stay. At Pinehurst Resort, the Donald Ross Golf Package (2 nights, 3 rounds, breakfast and dinner daily) runs $880 to $1,940 per person in a Manor or Condo room at double occupancy, depending on dates between fall 2026 and fall 2027. The all-you-can-play Premier Golf Package runs $2,710 to $3,415 per person for 3 nights on the same basis. Tax and the resort fee are added to all of it. A few miles away in Southern Pines, the posted prices are lower. Pine Needles' Bell package is listed at "starting at $585 per person" for 2 nights and 3 rounds through 12/31/26, and a Sandhills package company advertises 3 nights and 5 rounds from $182 per golfer per night in low season.

There's no official "average Pinehurst trip" price, and we won't invent one. Below is what each seller posted, what it covers, and what lands on top. For the non-money side of planning (dates, who's in, who books), see how to plan a guys golf weekend.

Pinehurst Resort packages: the posted rates

Pinehurst Resort publishes rate tables on its package pages. Every rate is per person, varies by date and room, and is "subject to tax and resort fee." The pages don't give a dollar amount or percentage for either, so the bill will land above these numbers. Rates below are double occupancy unless noted; single costs more.

Donald Ross Golf Package

The resort's standard group package: 2 nights, 3 rounds, breakfast and dinner daily. The table also has a 3-night column, but the page doesn't say how many rounds it includes, so ask. Per person, double, in The Manor, The Holly Inn, or The Condos at Pinehurst (2-Bedroom), which share the lowest rate (selected date ranges; the full table also has winter, March, summer, and November 2027 tabs, all inside the range above):

Dates2 nights3 nights
Sep 8 – Oct 31, 2026$1,840$2,760
Nov 1 – Nov 21, 2026$1,520$2,280
Nov 28, 2026 – Feb 27, 2027$880$1,320
Mar 28 – May 29, 2027$1,900$2,850
Sep 7 – Nov 6, 2027$1,940$2,910

Room upgrades cost more: in fall 2026, the Carolina Hotel (Deluxe) is $2,020 for 2 nights and The Carolina Villas $2,260, both double.

The bigger catch: "A $250 premium applies to rounds on No. 2," and $125 applies to rounds on No. 10 and No. 11. Play No. 2 once and add $250 per golfer. A 2-night minimum applies to play No. 2, No. 4, No. 10, and No. 11, and most weekends need 3 nights from mid-March through mid-November.

Pinehurst Package (2027 dates only)

1 round per night, breakfast and dinner daily. The page lists only dates from February 28, 2027 through February 27, 2028. Manor or Condo, double, per person:

  • Feb 28 – Mar 13, 2027: $1,000 for 2 nights, $1,500 for 3 nights
  • Mar 28 – May 29, 2027: $1,620 for 2 nights, $2,430 for 3 nights
  • Sep 7 – Nov 6, 2027: $1,640 for 2 nights, $2,460 for 3 nights
  • Nov 21, 2027 – Feb 27, 2028: $780 for 2 nights, $1,170 for 3 nights

The same $250 No. 2 premium and $125 No. 10/No. 11 premium apply.

Premier Golf Package (unlimited golf)

For groups that want 36 a day. It includes advance and replay rounds and "bundles all golf fees and course premiums," so the No. 2 premium is in the price, plus breakfast and dinner daily. Only one round each on No. 2, No. 4, No. 10, No. 11, and The Cradle can be booked in advance; more depend on availability on arrival. Manor or Condo, double, per person:

Dates3 nights4 nights
Sep 8 – Oct 31, 2026$3,190$4,110
Nov 1 – Nov 21, 2026$2,710$3,470
Mar 14 – Mar 27, 2027$2,875$3,665
Mar 28 – May 29, 2027$3,355$4,305
Sep 7 – Nov 6, 2027$3,415$4,385

Hidden Gems Package (fall 2026, priced per night)

The cheapest way into the resort we found, fall only. Priced per person, per night, it includes the room, breakfast, one round per night with a cart, and one round on The Cradle per stay. Rounds are limited to Nos. 1, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9. No. 2, No. 4, and No. 10 are excluded. Not available October 25 through 28. Per person, per night, double:

DatesHolly Inn / ManorCarolina Hotel (Deluxe)Carolina Villas
Oct 7 – Oct 31, 2026$630$700$800
Nov 1 – Nov 21, 2026$490$550$640

Single occupancy in The Manor is $850 a night in October and $650 in November.

Donald Ross Summer Special

Book 2 nights and 3 rounds and "add your 3rd night & 4th round for just $199 per person," with breakfast and dinner. For May 30 – Sep 6, 2027 it's $1,759 per person for 3 nights, Manor or Condo, double. Course premiums still apply.

Nearby packages: Southern Pines and the Sandhills

Pine Needles, Mid Pines, Southern Pines Golf Club, and Talamore are nearby, with lower posted starting prices. Treat "starting at" numbers as a floor, not a quote.

Pine Needles Bell Golf Package. The NCGolf listing shows it at "Starting at $585 per person," 2 nights and 3 rounds, valid through 12/31/26. The rounds can be played at Pine Needles, Mid Pines, or Southern Pines Golf Club. Taxes not included. The fine print says "per person, per night based on double occupancy," which doesn't match the headline, so ask whether $585 is the 2-night total or nightly. The pages also disagree on inclusions: NCGolf says breakfast daily, while Pine Needles' own Bell page (which shows no dollar amount) says breakfast and dinner, plus carts, spring and fall only. Pine Needles says it "does not use caddies," so no caddie fee there.

Mid Pines Inn & Golf Club Stay & Play Package (sold through GolfPass). Listed $177 per person per night for 2 nights and 2 rounds (Pine Needles, Mid Pines), $187 for 3 nights and 3 rounds (adds Tobacco Road), and $167 for 5 nights and 4 rounds (adds The New Course). Price "varies by travel date and includes taxes & resort fees." The page shows no year or dates for these prices, so confirm before budgeting.

Golf Trip Junkie, Sandhills packages. Its page is titled "Sandhills Golf Packages 2026-2027." Each package assumes 4 golfers sharing a 2-bedroom condo or villa, with a shared cart, taxes, and resort fees included. Low-season starting rates:

  • Hardcore Sandhills: from $182 per golfer per night. 3 nights, 5 rounds (Talamore, Mid South, Tobacco Road, Pine Needles, Mid Pines).
  • Wacky Tabacky: from $124 per golfer per night. 5 nights at Talamore Resort, 4 rounds (Tobacco Road, Mid South, Talamore New Course, Pinewild Magnolia).
  • Best of Sandhills: from $141 per golfer per night. 7 nights, 7 rounds.

Listings disagree even on one package. The GolfPackages listing shows Wacky Tabacky "Starting from $104 per golfer per night," dates Now – 12/31/26, with two Tobacco Road rounds, Dormie Club, and Talamore New Course. That's $104 there and $124 on the company's own page, with different courses. We're not averaging them; ask which applies to your dates.

What the packages include, and what they leave out

  • Included at Pinehurst Resort: room, listed rounds, breakfast daily; dinner too on Donald Ross, Pinehurst Package, Premier, and the Summer Special. The FAQ says the resort fee covers shuttles, parking, gratuities on included meals, and gratuities for golf operations, bell, and housekeeping staff.
  • Not included at the resort: tax, the resort fee itself, the $250 No. 2 premium on most packages, caddies, rental clubs, and getting there.
  • Sandhills sellers: Golf Trip Junkie and the GolfPass Mid Pines listing include taxes and resort fees; the Pine Needles Bell listing excludes taxes.
  • Not mentioned by any package page: flights, a rental car, bar tabs, and lunch.

The extras with posted prices

Caddies at Pinehurst Resort. The resort FAQ and golf page list caddie fees, paid at check-in at the golf shop:

  • Caddie: $85 per bag (the resort says most guests share one caddie between two players)
  • Forecaddie: $45 per player
  • Single bag: $100 (confirmed day of play only)
  • Recommended gratuity: $65 and up per bag for a walking caddie, $40 and up per bag for a forecaddie, and $65 for a single bag

The resort "highly encourages" caddies on No. 2 and No. 4 (cart-path only) and No. 10 (walking only), and asks for a single-strap carry bag under 24 pounds, so your golf travel case gets the clubs there but a light carry bag goes on the course.

Rental clubs. Pinehurst Resort rents "a set of the latest Titleist clubs for $80 per day." Three days is $240 a person, worth weighing against flying your own golf clubs. We found no posted rental price at Pine Needles or Mid Pines.

Getting there. The FAQ points to Raleigh-Durham (RDU), about 75 minutes away, with a peak-hours resort shuttle at $100 per person, each way, and warns ride-share is "very limited." No page prices flights.

Deposit. The FAQ lists $300 per adult at booking, forfeited if you cancel inside 30 days. Lock the headcount first.

Replays and dinners off-package. Outside Premier, we found no posted replay price, and none for off-package dinners or drinks. We won't guess; track them as they happen.

Example totals for 4 and 8 golfers

Example only, not a quote. Posted per-person rates times headcount (and nights, for per-night packages), before tax, resort fee, No. 2 premium, caddies, and travel.

Package and dates (double occupancy)Per golfer4 golfers8 golfers
Pinehurst Hidden Gems, Manor, Nov 1–21, 2026, 3 nights ($490 × 3)$1,470$5,880$11,760
Pinehurst Donald Ross, Manor/Condo, Sep 8 – Oct 31, 2026, 2 nights$1,840$7,360$14,720
Pinehurst Premier, Manor/Condo, Sep 8 – Oct 31, 2026, 3 nights$3,190$12,760$25,520
Golf Trip Junkie Hardcore Sandhills, low season, 3 nights ($182 × 3)$546$2,184$4,368

Now add a round on No. 2 to the Donald Ross row. Example only, not a quote: a foursome sharing two caddies (the resort's usual one bag for two players) pays 2 × $85 = $170 in caddie fees, plus about $130 in suggested gratuity at $65 per bag, plus 4 × $250 = $1,000 in No. 2 premiums. That's about $1,300 more for one round, before the resort fee. For 8 golfers on four bags, it's about $2,600. Two players renting clubs for three days add another $480.

One person pays the package; caddie fees, tips, shuttle seats, and bar tabs land on four cards over three days. Golf trip expenses: who owes who covers how to split it fairly, and the calculator does the math.

Picking the right package for your group

  • Want No. 2? Hidden Gems excludes it. Donald Ross and the Pinehurst Package add $250 per round. Premier includes it: $3,190 vs. Donald Ross's $2,760 for 3 fall 2026 nights.
  • More golf for less? Sandhills sellers post lower per-night starting rates. Get a dated quote.
  • This fall? Hidden Gems at $490 a night (Nov 1–21, 2026, Manor, double) is the lowest resort rate we found.
  • Doing winter? The Donald Ross package drops to $880 for 2 nights from Nov 28, 2026 through Feb 27, 2027.

Bring broken-in golf shoes for walking No. 2 and extra golf balls. If it's the crew's first trip, read your first guys golf weekend.

Bottom line

A 2-night Donald Ross package at Pinehurst Resort runs $880 to $1,940 per person, double, late 2026 through fall 2027, before tax, resort fee, and $250 per No. 2 round. Premier runs $2,710 to $3,415 for 3 nights. Nearby, Pine Needles' Bell starts at $585 per person, Mid Pines is listed from $167 a night (no year shown), and Golf Trip Junkie posts $124 to $182 a night for foursomes. Caddies ($85 a bag plus a suggested $65 tip), rental clubs ($80 a day), and the RDU shuttle ($100 each way) come on top. Get a dated quote, multiply by headcount, and track the extras.
